Striking Oil

As North Augusta grows, it is wonderful to see the vibrant community change. The most recent addition to the food and beverage scene is Town Square Olive Oil & Wine, located on Georgia Avenue. Owners Tia and Joey Harville elevated the concept of an olive oil shop, morphing it into a specialty shop with an ever-evolving selection of high-end goods.

After owning a successful oyster bar and a commercial bakery in the Charleston area, the couple moved back to the area to be closer to family. The beauty of this new venture is that its location allows the couple to spend more time with family while building relationships with their customers.

The Harvilles insist on having the highest quality oils and vinegars. Twenty-one olive oils, one sesame oil and ten balsamic vinegars are spaced artfully along the edges of the room, each with tasting cups and multiple bottle sizes for purchase. The duo works primarily with one producer in Greece, guaranteeing the highest quality possible for their award-winning oils and allowing early access to new releases for their customers.

With great oil goes great wine! Wine tastings are available when the shop is open with happy hour Monday through Friday 3–7 p.m., and all day on Saturday. Charcuterie meats, cheeses, mustards and more can be found in the cooler with crackers, jams, honey and pickles stocking the shelves — all with the same standard of quality as their oils. “Most of our inventory is based on what people are looking for. We knew we wanted high-quality ingredients and foods. We want people to know that if they buy it here, it’s going to be good.”

Customers can shop around while enjoying a wine tasting or pick up pasta, sauce, steaks and other specialty goods to make a tasty dinner. Hang out with friends over a craft beer from the cooler because Town Square Olive Oil & Wine is a go-to spot for trying new things in the heart of North Augusta!
