Augusta art lovers will soon be able to immerse themselves in sunflowers, streetscapes, fields and starry nights—in total, more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic paintings—when Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience opens at the James Brown Arena on May 21.

The popular exhibit, which has sold more than two million tickets worldwide, was created by Montreal’s Normal Studio and features larger-than-life projections developed by the world’s most prolific designers.

The family-friendly exhibit takes a new approach to immersive shows, incorporating still and moving art and creating a palate that allows the masterpieces to extend beyond any type of border. Van Gogh’s own dreams, thoughts and words are interspersed with the projections, which swirl and dance about as they morph from one painting to the next.

A feast for multiple senses, the exhibit is also set to a symphonic score; get a preview on Spotify.

The exhibit will be open May 21-June 26, Tu-Su from 10 am-9 pm. Final entry is one hour before closing.
