Publisher Notes: January 2021

HELLO 2021! Boy, am I excited to see a new year. Who could have ever imagined the chaos, strife and loss 2020 would bring.

So many lives have been devastated by the events of last year. But, alas a new year has arrived. Let’s pray that 2021 brings a time of healing for our city and our nation.

We do have some exciting activity happening in our area. While we acknowledge that many in our area continue to face hardships, we must also  recognize the business growth. Last year, Amazon announced they would build a new fulfillment center off Interstate 20  at the Appling-Harlem exit.

Jordan Trotter is gaining a stronghold as a leader in the area’s commercial real estate market. The firm has been largely responsible for the Costco area development off River Watch Parkway.

The list of projects ongoing in the Augusta area is great. Many cities across the country continue to see manufacturers shutting down plants, and while we have experienced our fair share of that in the past, we have been also been blessed.

In my opinion, there is reason for hope in the coming year!
