A Wedding at Kiokee Baptist Church

“Thomas grew up in Appling attending Kiokee Baptist Church. We knew we wanted to focus on the church since his father [Wes Gardner] has been the music pastor there for 30 years,” said Lane.

• Lane and Thomas met in law school but officially got to know each other studying abroad in Paris. The couple nodded to their personal history with the Eiffel Tower at their reception.

• Lane and her father picked out and put together the power suit for her second outfit change. “It felt really me. My dad and I had a good time putting it together,” said Lane.

• Family heirlooms were an important part of the couple’s happy day. Thomas’ watch was his late grandfather’s, given to him by his step-grandmother after golfing, and the center stone on Lane’s wedding ring was her late grandmother’s, which Thomas had reset.

• Local artist Kat McCall created a custom watercolor “save-the-date” accentuating the Kiokee Baptist Church stained glass window.
