A Wedding at Grace Methodist Church

“We are both very traditional and chose traditional elements for the wedding. We knew we wanted a church ceremony, and we were against a first look,” Gabby mentioned. “The [wedding-day] letters were a special way to write personal vows that could be just between us instead of reading them at the altar.”

• The bride and groom opted for the timeless tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony. But to calm the day-of nerves, they exchanged written sentiments while holding hands on opposite sides of a room door.

• The couple left the reception in a dark green antique car whose driver happened to work for the bride’s grandfather at Augusta Dairies when he was younger.

• The groom capitalized on his wedding responsibility of finding a stellar live band. Soulution, from Greenville, S.C., adapted the evening’s song list to reflect music about Georgia while the couple could dance the Shag — a dance step Dale enjoyed teaching Gabby while they were dating.

• The bride chose a nostalgic and unconventional processional song, Clair de lune”, to walk down the aisle.
