Publisher Notes: October 2021

It has been a rough 18 months for many Augusta area businesses. First it was the pandemic, then came staffing challenges and supply chain issues. And yes, the effects are lingering and now we face a new variant and new challenges.

Despite the many adversities, we have (for the most part) weathered what we hope is the worst of the storm. Augusta and her businesses and residents have embraced a new reality. And we are so thankful and grateful to call this city home.

Every October we announce the Best of Augusta winners as voted on by you, the reader. This year is no exception. We hope you take a moment to read our Best of Augusta feature, as written by the quick-witted Dan Pearson, and then visit some of the establishments voted as the best in their respective categories. I know these businesses would greatly appreciate the support.

Finally, I would like to introduce Aimee Serafin, our new managing editor for Augusta Magazine. Aimee is not new to our staff she has been the editor for Augusta Family magazine since 2019.

Aimee grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in French. She has worked as a translator and editor of several publications during her career.

She and her husband, Scott, moved to Augusta in 2016 with their two children. We are excited to have Aimee become a part of our Augusta magazine staff.
