Virginia and Justin Wedding

Small and intimate. Those are the two words that came to mind when Virginia Claussen Bundy envisioned her wedding day.

“I really didn’t want a big wedding,” Virginia explained. “I always wanted [something] small and simple surrounded by those I love the most, my family.”

Virginia and Justin hired Kate Bailey, with Kate Bailey Events, to assist in planning their dream wedding. Everything took place at the couple’s historic West Augusta home. The afternoon ceremony was exactly what the bride had envisioned. With only their families looking on, the couple said their vows in their backyard before moving to an elegant tent for an intimate dinner.

“It was so lovely and just perfect,” Virginia explained. “Justin and I started dating about six months before the pandemic and his family lives across the country so we hadn’t really been able to spend much time with them. This was really a time to bring our families together to get to know each other.”

It was also important that Justin’s young son feel included and had fun as well. So, the couple had a special kids area in their sunroom set up for him, along with their nieces and nephews to enjoy.

After dinner, the newlyweds invited a group of their closest friends to stop by for cake and an espresso martini toast, the signature cocktail, to celebrate their union.

The evening ended early with the couple dancing a farewell for their guests on the rooftop balcony to Weather Balloons by Susto before turning in.

“The one thing we really wanted more than anything was to wake up in our home the next morning as a family, The Bundys,” Virginia said. “And we did just that.”
