Publisher Notes: October 2019

Outside of April (the Tournament Guide), October is our biggest issue of the year. The amount of time we put into showcasing the Best of Augusta is tremendous.

We spend hours calculating ballots, notifying winners, taking photographs, writing copy and planning our annual celebration. It’s a labor of love that we look forward to.

Year after year, I am amazed by the amount of readers that continue to vote. As for the winners, there are certain businesses that continually dominate, but we always have a few upsets. Which I think is a true testament to the validity of our contest.

In recent years we have seen other media outlets launch their own brand of “bests.” Every one has their own criteria that must be met to be classified as ‘the best” in a respective category. At Augusta Magazine, we have held the original Best of Augusta Awards for more than 35 years.

We hope you will make plans to join us again this year to celebrate some of our Best of Augusta winners. Our celebration will take place on Thursday, October 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cultural Center. We look forward to seeing you there…after all, it’s truly the BEST of Augusta!
